What’s been happening
• P5/6 and P6/7 are receiving Dance lessons each week with a dance coach

• P5/6 and P6/7 had a very interesting visit to the Scottish Parliament and Dynamic Earth. They visited Edinburgh at an exciting time just before the referendum

• P1 to P7 were all involved in a very successful Science week when the focus of learning was on specific aspects of Science. Thank you to all the family and friends who came along to hear the children talking about their learning in Science week

• P4 – P7 took part in Drama workshops with the BBC. They are looking for children to appear in a new children’s TV show

• P5- P7 enjoyed working with Glasgow Rocks Basketball players on Basketball skills, health and fitness

St Stephen’s Website
We are delighted to announce that we are about to launch our new school website. Parents are invited to come along to hear all about this on Monday 27th October at 1.15pm

New school
As you are aware a new school campus is being planned for Sighthill which will include St Stephen’s, St Kevin’s and Sighthill Nursery. On the back of this newsletter is a letter from the Director of Education explaining how you can comment on this proposal should you wish to do so.

Coming up
• October holiday 13th – 17th October
• Week beginning Monday 27th October is ECO Week when all the children will be taking part in a range of activities. On Monday 27th, as well as launching our website, we plan to raise our second ECO Green Flag. We hope you can come along at 1.15pm
• Friday 31st October 9.30am parents are invited to our ECO Fair
• Tuesday 11th November P6/7 attend Emirates sports event to support MS
• Friday 31st October in the afternoon children can dress up for class fancy dress parties
• Friday 14th November P1 – P7 go to the Cinema as part of National Film Week
• Thurs 20th and Tues 25th November Parents’ evenings
• Thursday 27th November P7 take part in a showcase event at St Roch’s Secondary
• Fri 28th November International Day
We would like to invite any parent who is interested to join our Parent Council who meet with the Head Teacher once a month to hear about what’s happening in school and offer ideas and suggestions. If you are interested please come along to a meeting on Thursday 23rd October at 2.15pm.

I would like to join the Parent Council and will come to the meeting 23.10.14 at 2.15pm
